Orienteering this Wednesday Evening, 16th May 2007 at The Downs, Bristol


The second event in Bristol Orienteering Klub's Summer Informals Series takes place this Wednesday evening, 16th May 2007, at Clifton and Durdham Downs, Bristol. This informal event is ideal for beginners and novices of all ages.

You don't have to be a member of a club in order to take part - new faces are always welcome. If you need help or advice please ask the organiser and/or helpers on the day.

Location

Parking on the Circular Road on the west edge of the Downs, just west of the junction with Ivywell Road at national grid reference ST563749:
No BOK tent at this event, look out for the organiser's maroon Ford Ka!

Courses

  • Conventional Yellow course (easy). Good for beginners and also suitable for wheel chairs and push chairs.
  • Longer course of Light Green / Red standard for those with some orienteering experience.
  • 60 minute Street Score course using the hand-drawn map of Westbury and Stoke Bishop, last used Christmas 2004.
Please note that there will be no technical Green or Blue courses at this event.

Start Times

6pm to 7pm. Courses closes at 8.30pm.

Entry Fees

Seniors: £2. Juniors and full time students: £1.
Note: Charges are "per map", so you only pay one fee if you run as a team using a single map.
