Orienteering this Wednesday Evening, 30th May 2007, at Warmley Forest Park, Bristol


The fourth event in Bristol Orienteering Klub's Summer Informals Series takes place this Wednesday evening, 30th May 2007, at Warmley Forest Park, Bristol. This informal event is ideal for beginners and novices of all ages.

You don't have to be a member of a club in order to take part - new faces are always welcome. If you need help or advice please ask the organiser and/or helpers on the day.

Location

Parking is at Warmley Forest Park Community Hall, off the A420 at national grid reference ST672735:
Look out for the orienteering signs (examples here ).

Courses

  • Easy (yellow standard) suitable for beginners and those with some experience.
  • Moderate (light green standard) for the more experienced orienteer – confined to Warmley Forest Park and Siston.
  • Long (red/blue standard) for fit, experienced orienteers (1.5km of public footpath linking the two areas).
We recommended carrying a whistle in case of injury. Moderate and Long courses cross public roads.

Start Times

6pm to 7.30pm. Courses closes at 8.30pm.

Entry Fees

Seniors: £2. Juniors and full time students: £1.
Note: Charges are "per map", so you only pay one fee if you run as a team using a single map.

BOK's Summer Informals Series continues on Saturday 2nd June at Purdown, then on Wednesday 6th June at Chew Valley School and continues throughout June, with the last event at Ashton Court on Wednesday July 4th.

BOK's next district event is on Sunday 10th June at Stock Hill, Mendips.
