Bristol Orienteering Klub's annual New Year Score Event takes place this Tuesday, 1st January in Bath City Centre. At a score event, competitors accumulate a score by visiting, in any order, as many checkpoints as possible within a fixed time. Organiser Phil Fawkner-Corbett writes: "The parking and assembly area is in the Cricket Club, which is very central and will give an ideal base for a good street orienteering event with lots of interesting places to visit and clues to find. Perfect for blowing away the excesses of the festive season and get you all toned up for 2008." There will be prizes for: senior winner; under 16 winner; family winners. You don't have to be a member of a club in order to take part - new faces are always welcome.
