The first event in Bristol Orienteering Klub's 2008 Summer Informals Series takes place this Wednesday evening, 28th May 2008, at Warmley Forest Park, Bristol.

The Summer Informals Series is intended to encourage beginners of all ages to take part in the exciting sport of orienteering.

Help and friendly advice will be available at each event. All you will need will be walking or jogging clothes - a compass is not even necessary for the easy courses, although you will be able to borrow one if you need.

Location

At Warmley Forest Park Visitors Centre (national grid reference ST672734), on the A420 just beyond the Bristol to Bath cycle track. Parking for cars and cycles at the front of the centre.

Look out for the orienteering signs as you approach the venue.

Courses

Two courses will be available: an easier course for beginners and a score course for more experienced participants.

Start Times

6pm to 7pm.

Entry Fees

Seniors: £2.50. Juniors: £1.50.
Note: Charges are "per map", so you only pay one fee if you run as a team using a single map.

Membership

Details of membership can be found on the BOK website. Senior members are entitled to a discount of £2 on the entry fee at most of our formal events.

BOK's Summer Informals Series continues on Thursday 5th June at Ashton Court , then on Wednesday 11th June at Blaise Castle and continues throughout June, with the last event at Kingswood School, Bath on Wednesday 9th July.

Our next district event is on Sunday 15th June at Purdown, Bristol .
