Klub Champs 2012

It all came together in the end! Right from the start I was demonstrating exactly how now to organise an event, with the sense of urgency only coming with one week to go, no map and no course and the small matter of JWOC distracting the planner. This was compounded by technical problems with the printing causing delays (the maps arrived at 3pm on the day) and unfortunately also affecting the map quality. Duncan's new map had it's first airing and I hope you all enjoyed running with it, after my test run I could only describe it using superlatives and some of the feedback I heard seemed to agree. I'm assured that it will be even better when it's finished and printed correctly! We ran the event very light on helpers and at times having just two people was a struggle. Thanks to Mark, Alice, Paul, Phil, Clive, Chris and Tim (and anybody else who I've forgotten) for helping collect controls or calculate results. Thanks also to Katy and Mark for first aid and hosting the social afterwards. A final comment regarding safety - at the event we had two competitors enter but not download afterwards. Please can I urge all runners to download after their races so that the organisers can pack up and go home without having to start a search!
