Western Night League - Leigh Woods - 3rd December 2016

I had intended to set challenging courses which should be just slightly too long for the top guys to clear, i.e. an expected winning score of 560 out of 580. As it turned out, things were a little tougher than I thought with a top score of 494. Control 123 topped the “I struggled to find it list”, although approached from the right direction it shouldn’t be too hard. The hills and longer distances compared to some WNLs obviously caught a lot of people on their timings, with just under half incurring penalties for being late, but I did check and the start and finishes were in sync so no excuses. Brownie points to the three who went all the way to 110! Thank you for all the kind comments, and to my control collectors, Matt Whipple, Lawrence Jones, Mark Dyer and Katy Dyer, especially to Katy Dyer and John Fielder for doing much of the organisation and logistics (try planning without a car!) and to all the stuff that goes on behind the scenes in BOK.
