BOK will be running an Organisers’ Course and Event Safety Workshop (ESW) on Saturday 21st October at Avon Riding Centre for the Disabled in Blaise, Bristol. The Organisers’ Course is for British Orienteering members expecting to, or interested in organising Local and Regional events. It will focus on providing BOK members with the necessary knowledge to organise events for the club, but the generic information included will be of value to members of other clubs. The ESW will discuss how to ensure risks at orienteering events are as low as reasonably practicable and provide attendees with the knowledge necessary to conduct a risk assessment. Attendance at a workshop is mandatory for anyone organising, planning or controlling an orienteering event registered with British Orienteering. All such people and any other British Orienteering member with an interest in event safety is welcome to attend.
